What I Long For

Alright today I decided to tackle two challenges in one post.  The Daily Post Prompt: Places and the Trifecta weekend challenge of writing a piece using: 1) only 33 words and 2) it had to be in first person.  So here it or rather they are.  Enjoy! :D

****

I never yearned for writing our names in the sand or skiing or camping as long as she was here.  Now she’s gone — that’s all I long for, and her at my side.

So many things you think you’ll get to.

  2. oh, those after thoughts. This is poignant and sad.

your link might need to be corrected, btw. It takes us to your wp page instead of directly here.

    • Thanks for stopping by and I’m glad you enjoyed it. It’s always the coulda, shoulda, woulda’s that get you. Hindsight is always 20/20.

Thanks Barbara for letting me know about the link. I’ll look into it.

  3. Oh,sometimes we miss people only when they are gone-hope she is not gone forever & the Narrator gets her back:-)Well done.

    • Thank you very much. It’s interesting you should mention the narrator finding her. I started thinking sbout a longer piece revolving around this. To some degree I have an ending for it already.

  7. Aw, so sad and so true. Great use of the prompt!

  8. “One image sustains me,
    As now I grow old,
    A porch swing at sunset
    And your hand to hold.”

Sharing your life with the one you love is the best of all worlds, as far as I am concerned. To lose that is to lose everything.
