Fake A$$ Chruch Folk

Blast Scott Berkun over at The Daily Post at WordPress for this challenge!  Yesterday’s challenge was to Make a list of five things you are afraid to write about.  I did and look where it has gotten me — writing about one of those five things I’m afraid to write about.  Sure, sure I don’t have to accept the challenge, but hell it wouldn’t be me not to jump in.  So here it goes.

Fake A$$ Church Folk

“Will all visitors stand and remain standing.”  Heads turn in all directions to see the handful of fresh, new faces that stand around the church.

“We’re so glad you are worshiping with us, as we know you could have attended another place of worship today.  We want you to feel welcome, and a part of our church family because we are family.”

“Yeah right,” I think to myself.  All the crap and foolishness I see going on here, if this is a how family act; then I want out. Read the rest of this entry

5 Things I’m Afraid to Write About

The Daily Post at WordPress has yet another great topic, to make you say hmmm.

I really had to think about this.  What five things am I afraid to write about?  I thought that everything was pretty much fair game, but that’s not true. Read the rest of this entry

Describe a Dream You’ve Had More Than Once

This is my first WordPress: Post A Week! And I did in 100 Words, which was my own personal challenge.

Falling!

I’ve often wondered why I have this recurring dream that I’m falling. Typically from a mountain, which is ironic, considering: 1) I’m horrifically afraid of heights and 2) I love to rock climb.

In my quest for an explanation I discovered, I always have this dream the night before going climbing. However, I just thought that it’s in response to every climber’s nightmare.  Falling to ones death.  But I discovered it’s much more.

People who dream they’re falling have insecurities, instabilities, and anxieties.  Mystery solved.  My dreams of falling aptly reflect my fear of heights and my love to climb.

The Daily Post by WordPress

I’ve decided to challenge myself yet again.  I hope I am not overextending myself with my self challenges.   I will be posting on this blog  once a week for the remainder of 2011.

I know it won’t be easy, but I’m sure it will be fun, inspiring, awesome, and wonderful. Therefore I’m promising to make use of The Daily Post, and the community of other bloggers with similar goals, to help me along the way, including asking for help when I need it and encouraging others when I can.

If you already read my blog or if you don’t, I hope you will stop by frequently and encourage me with comments and likes, and good will along the way.

Thanks bunches in advance for all your support and encouragement.
