Sarah and Mayzie

For the Scriptic prompt exchange this week, Grace O’Malley gave me this prompt: Horse..

I gave Michael this prompt: Start your story with: Alice tried to remember who had given her the key.

************************************************************************

Neither Sarah nor Mayzie were the same after the accident.

It’s as if Mayzie knew she was the cause of Sarah being in a wheelchair.  She would let Sarah brush her mane, feed her, and bathe her, but she wouldn’t let Sarah mount her.

Mayzie has always been Sarah’s favorite horse and now they are both stalled.

Animals always know more than we think they do–they just show us, and hopefully we are observant enough to notice 🙂

A short but strong and emotional story. It is always a wonder to me what our four-legged friends feel or think.

Thanks Gabriella for visiting and your comment. Our pets are much more in tune to us than we think. My dog knows when I’m not happy (sad, depressed, angry) and she does her best to try and cheer me up. And when I’m happy her tail just goes from side-to-side and around in circles.
