Terrified
This weeks Trifextra prompt is based on a quote from Katherine Paterson, author of Bridge to Terabithia. She wrote, “It’s like the smarter you are, the more things can scare you.” We are looking for a 33-word explanation of what scares you (or your character). We already know you’re intelligent, so, according to Paterson, you should have no shortage of potential subject matter.
I hope you enjoy! And as usual, please make sure you stop by and read what others have written and of course you’re welcome to join in the writing fun.
This week’s Trifextra is Community judged, so make sure to take a moment to vote, too.

She’s terrified of them. She was never stabbed with one. Never used one. Never even picked one up.
Week after week I ask, “Why?”
She shrugs and says, “I’m just terrified of pens.”

Hi Troy, thanks for stopping by and I’m glad you enjoyed. Therapists have a weird thing they do and that is repeatedly ask, why. And my thought process is I knew why I wouldn’t be here. It’s really bad guided troubleshooting.

Nicely done! But honestly, if I were her, I’d be terrified that you were going to keep asking me about it! =)

HA! I cannot relate to this fear though..I’m obsessed with pens… it is not safe to leave me alone at Office depot ar the “pen aisle” in any store.

I’m the same way. 😀 I have a ton of pens (fountain, ball points, gel). I would love to get my hands on a proper quill.

That’s a strange one, but to each her own!

Definitely strange, especially coming from a writer who collects pens. Thanks for stopping by.

It came unexpectedly. And I had chuckle when I wrote it.

Glad you enjoyed it. You’d still have a job. Just have to use iPad’s and other tablets or computers. But then I’m sure someone would be afraid of them.
